Penny Dress in our Tulip Cascade Digital Print Viscose by Lady McElroy

It was love at first sight when I spotted this gorgeous viscose at the CHSI Stitches show earlier this year.  The colours are so rich – I had to have it!  I wanted a pattern with minimal interruptions so the print could really sing and the Sew Over It Penny dress with its relaxed bodice and full skirt was a great match.  I bought it ages ago and had been waiting for the good weather to come around to make it up.  I’m really pleased with this dress and I learned a few things along the way to share … The...

Closet Case Patterns Sasha Trousers in our Tan Stretch Cotton Suiting
I have just finished my second pair of Sasha Trousers from Closet Case Patterns, using one of our Spring Summer 2020 suitings – a tan stretch cotton blend.  I’m very pleased with how they’ve turned out – lots of challenges in the fitting, construction and finishing so I have plenty to say!

Named Clothing Saraste Shirt in meetMilk Tencel Twill

I had such high expectations of the meetMilk tencel twill.  It promised rich jewel colours, a luxe look & feel, and a lovely balance of substance and drape.  100% my vibe and I’m delighted to say that it really delivers.  Inspired by AW19 trends, we ordered Navy, Deep Green, Maroon and Rust.  As they all go together so beautifully, I tried my hand at some colour blocking, inspired by this Boden shirt dress.    I thought the princess seams of the Named Clothing Saraste shirt / shirt dress would be a nice way to achieve this kind of look.    The Breaking the Pattern...
